PIF Series Installation & Compatibility Guidelines

To maintain accurate curvature, consistent image quality, and reliable long-term operation, the module configuration and supporting structure must be confirmed before purchasing or installing PIF Series indoor flexible LED modules.

  • Batch Consistency: Modules from different production batches may vary slightly in LED wavelength, brightness, color, surface finish, driver IC configuration, firmware, and calibration data. Modules used within the same screen should be sourced from the same product configuration and production batch whenever possible.
  • System Compatibility: A matching module size and pixel pitch do not guarantee direct compatibility. Before replacement, expansion, or mixed installation, confirm the magnet layout, signal interface and pinout, scan rate, driver IC, DC power connector and polarity, receiving-card settings, firmware, and calibration data.
  • Structure & Curvature: Flexible modules must be installed on a compatible, accurately formed magnetic support structure. The allowable bending direction, bending angle, and minimum installation diameter vary by model. Do not fold, twist, pull, sharply bend, or repeatedly flex a module beyond its documented limit.
  • Indoor Protection Boundary: PIF modules are intended for indoor use unless otherwise stated. GOB or COB encapsulation may improve front-surface protection, but it does not automatically protect the rear PCB, connectors, power interfaces, or complete LED display system.

For replacement projects, custom curved structures, or mixed installations, please provide the original product label, front and rear photos, PCB markings, connector details, receiving-card model, configuration file, screen dimensions, and required curvature when you CONTACT US for compatibility review.

Structure & Installation Base

PIF flexible LED modules use flexible PCB structures with model-specific rear housings and magnetic mounting systems. A compatible, accurately formed support surface helps maintain module alignment, consistent curvature, reliable magnetic attachment, and controlled seam appearance.

The supporting structure must be designed for the required curvature, flatness, load capacity, ventilation, grounding, cable routing, and maintenance method. Matching module dimensions alone do not guarantee compatibility with an existing frame or LED display system.

Handling & Installation Guidelines

  • Wear anti-static gloves and follow appropriate ESD procedures when handling, installing, or servicing LED modules.
  • Do not splash water on the module or clean it with wet cloths, hard tools, or unapproved chemicals. Use an anti-static soft brush or the manufacturer-approved cleaning method.
  • Keep modules dry and operate them only within the temperature and humidity limits stated on the corresponding product page.
  • Do not pull cables, connectors, copper pillars, or PCB sections with excessive force. Disconnect cables by holding the connector body.
  • Use an accurately fabricated support structure with suitable curvature, flatness, magnetic attachment, load capacity, and ventilation.
  • Do not fold, twist, sharply bend, pull, or repeatedly flex a module beyond its model-specific bending limit.
  • Before installation, confirm the signal interface and pinout, scan rate, driver IC, DC power connection and polarity, receiving-card configuration, firmware, and calibration data.
  • GOB and COB may improve front-surface protection, but this protection does not automatically apply to the rear PCB, connectors, power interfaces, or complete display system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers about indoor flexible modules, including applications, installation, compatibility, and product performance.

What are the differences between PIF-S, PIF-G, and PIF-C indoor flexible LED modules?

PIF-S modules use standard flexible SMD technology and are a practical choice for general curved indoor displays where mature performance, flexible configuration, and project cost are important. PIF-G modules combine flexible SMD LEDs with a GOB protective surface layer, providing improved resistance to accidental contact, dust, static exposure, and routine handling.

PIF-C modules use flexible COB technology and are designed for fine-pitch and ultra-fine-pitch applications requiring higher pixel density, strong contrast, close-viewing detail, and premium visual performance. The appropriate platform should be selected according to pixel pitch, viewing distance, protection requirements, curvature, supporting structure, and project budget.

Which pixel pitches and module sizes are available in the PIF Series?

The PIF Series currently covers pixel pitches from P0.9375 to P4. Available module formats include 240×120mm, 256×128mm, 320×160mm, and 300×168.75mm.

Smaller pixel pitches provide higher pixel density and finer image detail for close-viewing applications, while larger pixel pitches provide practical coverage and better cost efficiency for larger indoor displays. Module size should be selected according to the screen dimensions, required native resolution, curvature, supporting structure, installation layout, and maintenance method rather than pixel pitch alone.

Can PIF Series modules be used for curved, cylindrical, and custom-shaped LED displays?

Yes. PIF Series modules can be used for compatible concave, convex, cylindrical, wave-shaped, ribbon-style, and other custom indoor LED structures.

However, the allowable bending direction, bending angle, and minimum installation diameter vary by module model, pixel pitch, PCB design, and rear housing. Flexible modules must be installed on an accurately engineered support structure with suitable curvature, flatness, magnetic attachment, load capacity, ventilation, grounding, cable routing, and maintenance access. Confirm the model-specific curvature requirements before designing or manufacturing the structure.

Can PIF Series modules replace or be mixed with existing flexible LED modules?

Matching the module size and pixel pitch does not guarantee direct compatibility with an existing flexible LED display. Before replacement, expansion, or mixed installation, confirm the mounting structure, magnet layout, bending direction, signal interface and pinout, scan rate, driver IC, DC power connector and polarity, receiving-card configuration, firmware, and calibration data.

Modules from different manufacturers, product models, technology platforms, or production batches should not be mixed unless their mechanical, electrical, signal, control, and calibration compatibility has been verified. For consistent brightness and color performance, modules installed within the same screen should use the same product configuration and production batch whenever possible.

Do PIF Series modules support magnetic front-service installation?

Most PIF Series modules use magnetic mounting and can support front-access installation and maintenance on compatible engineered structures. This can simplify module positioning, removal, replacement, and maintenance in curved installations or locations with limited rear access.

However, magnetic mounting does not mean that the modules can be installed without structural support. The actual installation and maintenance method depends on the module model, magnet layout, supporting frame, cable routing, removal clearance, and overall display design. Confirm the complete mechanical and electrical structure before installation.
