Important Notes for Indoor LED Modules – PID Series
LED display modules are the core building blocks of a complete LED screen. Modules can be purchased individually and assembled into custom display configurations.
To ensure consistent visual performance and system compatibility, please note the following:
Batch Consistency
- Even modules from the same manufacturer may show slight differences between production batches, including LED color tone, mask color, and overall appearance.
- For best uniformity, modules used within the same screen should come from the same batch whenever possible.
Manufacturer Compatibility
- LED modules from different factories may vary in PCB design, driver IC configuration, and LED components.
- Because of these differences, modules from different manufacturers should not be mixed within the same display.
Before You Purchase
- If you plan to combine these modules with existing LED modules, please CONTACT US in advance to confirm compatibility.
- For new LED screen projects, modules from the same PIF series can be used together without concern.

Indoor LED Display Modules: Clear Classification by Pixel Pitch for Professional Indoor Applications
Indoor LED display modules are mainly selected according to their pixel pitch, also called the “P-value”. Based on pixel pitch, they are commonly divided into small pitch (P2.0 and below) and conventional pitch (P2.5 and above). Pixel pitch directly determines image clarity, viewing distance, project cost, and installation requirements. The following comparison helps engineers and project planners choose the most suitable indoor LED module for different environments and budgets.
1. Small Pitch LED Display Modules (P2.0 and Below)
-
Common Models: P2.0, P1.86, P1.53, P1.25, P0.9, etc. (Smaller pixel pitch means higher pixel density and finer image detail.)
-
Key Features:
-
High Resolution: More LEDs per unit area deliver sharper images, ideal for close viewing such as meeting rooms and control centers.
-
Low Brightness with High Grayscale: Typical brightness ranges from 300–800 nits, providing excellent color accuracy and reduced eye strain in indoor environments.
-
Seamless Splicing: Smaller pixel structures enable tighter module joints and more uniform display surfaces.
-
Advanced Manufacturing Technology: Requires precise heat dissipation, driver IC integration, and dead-pixel control to maintain stable long-term performance.
-
-
Applications:
-
High-End Commercial Spaces: Corporate boardrooms, brand experience centers, broadcasting studios.
-
Professional Environments: Security command centers, medical imaging rooms, XR and virtual production studios.
-
Emerging Markets: Premium home theaters (P1.0 and below) and interactive luxury retail displays.
-
2. Conventional Pitch LED Display Modules (P2.5 and Above)
-
Common Models: P2.5, P3, P4, P5, etc. (As pixel pitch increases, overall system cost becomes more economical.)
-
Key Features:
-
Cost-Effective Performance: Ideal for projects that prioritize coverage area and budget control.
-
Adjustable Brightness: Typically 500–1500 nits, adaptable to bright indoor spaces such as shopping malls.
-
Easy Maintenance: Larger pixel and module sizes simplify servicing and replacement.
-
-
Applications:
-
Commercial Displays: Shopping mall advertising, hotel lobby signage, stage backdrops for large venues.
-
Public Information Systems: Airports, subway stations, and university auditoriums.
-
Temporary Installations: Exhibitions, festivals, and rental LED display projects.
-
3. Technology Trends in Indoor LED Display Modules
-
Micro Pitch Development: P0.4–P0.7 products are entering the market, enabling 8K ultra-HD displays on screens above 110 inches.
-
Integrated Packaging Technologies: COB (Chip on Board) and IMD (Integrated Matrix Design) are increasingly adopted to enhance reliability, contrast, and impact resistance.
-
Smart Interaction: Integration of touch control, gesture recognition, and facial recognition expands applications in education, retail, and digital exhibition spaces.
Selection Guidelines for Indoor LED Display Modules
-
Small Pitch Recommended: Suitable for premium projects with viewing distances ≤ 4 m, such as meeting rooms and control centers (commonly P1.25–P1.8).
Choosing the right pixel pitch allows users to balance image clarity and system cost, maximizing overall performance for indoor LED display solutions.
Small pixel pitch LED modules are also called fine pixel pitch LED tiles, typically below 2 mm, including 2.0 mm, 1.875 mm, 1.53 mm, and 1.25 mm. These modules contain a higher number of LEDs on a fixed-size PCB, enabling extremely high-definition image output.
Because of their superior image precision, fine pixel pitch LED modules are widely used in high-end LED display projects, television studios, government monitoring centers, and any application that demands exceptional image detail.

-
Conventional Pitch Suitable: Best for viewing distances ≥ 6 m or projects focused on dynamic content, such as shopping malls and large public areas (commonly P3–P5).

-
Pixel Pitch Comparison (P1.86, P2, P2.5, P3.076): When displaying the same content at the same viewing distance, a smaller pixel pitch produces a finer and clearer image. (Please ignore slight color differences caused by LED batch variations.)
